Owners of Manco & Manco Pizza Delay Sentencing in Tax Evasion Case

The owners of a popular Jersey shore pizza restaurant chain won't be sentenced until next year in their federal tax evasion case.

The Press of Atlantic City reports Manco & Manco Pizza owners Charles and Mary Bangle were scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, but the couple's attorneys pushed the date to March 18, 2016.

The couple is accused of stealing nearly $1 million between 2007 and 2011 to avoid reporting requirements.

Charles Bangle pleaded guilty in July to evading taxes and his wife admitted to knowingly making materially false statements to the IRS.

Manco & Manco Pizza is located in Ocean City and has three stores on the boardwalk and one in Somers Point.

The U.S. Attorney General's Office declined to comment on why the sentencing was delayed.
