Open Air launched in Philadelphia Thursday night. Twenty four spotlights were flipped on, over Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

The project is an interactive light installation that is powered by voice messages. The beams of light then move over the sky in time to the pre-recorded messages.

The creator of Open Air described the project to NBC10-- "We can create these huge light sculptures with races of light and then we create domes of light that react to participation, so if you are seeing the lights move, it's because someone, somewhere has sent out a message," said Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, visual artist.

Open Air runs until October 14.
