One man is dead after a fatal apartment fire happened in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia.
The blaze occurred at the Ascension Manor Apartment Building on the 900 block of North 7th Street Wednesday morning around 3:40 a.m.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to control the blaze by 4:30 a.m.
One man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
No other apartments were damaged and no other people injured. Residents were allowed back into the building shortly after the blaze was controlled.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
