This Saturday, Aug. 7, you can come out and show support for the community at the 2nd Annual “On Your Marc” 5K Run/Walk.
Co-chairmen Megan and Mary MacFarland put the race together to honor their family member (Mary’s son and Megan’s brother), Marc Small, who was killed after serving only three weeks in Afghanistan.
All of the proceeds from race will go to the Small Steps in Speech Foundation that was created by Marc’s fiancée, Amanda Charney. The cause goes to assisting children with communicative disorders by providing speech therapy sessions, home devices, schooling and more.
The race kicks off at the Lower Providence Township Building on 100 Parklane Drive in Eagleville.
Registration forms are available through the Lower Providence site and the fee is a mere $20. If you don’t have time to complete the form before the race, you can register at the race site beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Early check-in is on Friday Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, with check in beginning at 7:30 a.m. Last year there were over 600 participants and over $25,000 was raised for the great cause.
