A popular Philadelphia bar is no more, according to its website.
The Mad River Bar & Grille announced that it is closing its location in Old City. The following statement appears on the Mad River website:
The ownership of Mad River Bar & Grille Old City would like to thank it's many loyal patrons for an amazing 8 years. We have decided to close this location. Please visit our Manayunk location at 4100 main street. Mad River Manayunk is Philadelphia's best private party destination. Don't forget to check out our beautiful deck. Thanks again,

No word yet on the reason for the closing. The Mad River location in Manayunk remains open.
