Authorities have released the name of a woman killed when she was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Monmouth County.
But it's still not clear why the woman was on the tracks when the accident occurred Friday night in Long Branch.
NJ Transit tells NJ.com that 21-year-old Samantha Morales, of Jackson, was struck shortly before 7 p.m. by a Bay Head-bound train traveling on the North Jersey Coast Line tracks.
None of the 140 passengers and crew aboard the train were hurt in the accident, which remains under investigation.
