Officials Angry After Vandals Turn Fountain Into Bubble Bath

New Jersey police are searching for the person who poured industrial strength bubble bath into a park fountain on Memorial Day.

Lyndhurst Township police say they are reviewing video from various cameras in the park. NorthJersey.com reports (https://njersy.co/2rKGfCX ) Lyndhurst Municipal Park officials believe the suspect may have used industrial strength bubble bath soap to create the clouds of foamy suds.

It cost more than $3,500 to repair the fountain, along with 2 days of work from two park employees.

Parks and Recreation Commissioner Thomas DiMaggio said it was a waste of the department's time and money to clean the fountain, and the fountain wasn't fully cleaned up until Wednesday.

Police are taking the vandalism seriously and the incident is being investigated for criminal mischief.
