Funeral Road Closures, Detours Friday
A photo of Officer John Pawlowski was deemed inappropriate for court by one Philadelphia judge.
Police Officer John Pawlowski, who was killed in the line of duty, will be laid to rest Friday.
The viewing will be held at 7am at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 1723 Race Street, Philadelphia, Pa., followed by the interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, Pa.
Due to the funeral services there will be several road closures in the Philadelphia region. Expect heavy congestion from 7am to 1pm around the Basilica, such as Spring Garden Street, John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Broad Street, and 25th Street, and along the route to the cemetary.
At around 1:30pm the funeral procession will process to the cemetary. Expect the following closures and detours:
- Closure: at Vine Street from Logan Circle to the I-676 entrance at Broad Street
- Closure: I-676 East at I-76
- Closure: I-95 North at I-676
- Detours on I-95 North will allow motorists to exit at Washington Avenue or onto I-676 West
- Closure: I-676 West exit at Broad Street
