Officer Hurt, Students in Custody After H.S. Fight: District

It happened at George Washington High School on Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

Four students are in custody after a high school fight that injured a school police officer, according to investigators. It happened at George Washington High School on Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

The School District says two boys were involved in a fist fight at the school. School police officers rushed in to break it up after two more boys became involved in the fight, according to officials. During the scuffle, one of the school police officers fell and bruised her hip. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Philadelphia Police arrived at the scene and the four boys were taken into custody. The School District says that disciplinary action will be determined later today.
