Hundreds Plan to 'Occupy Philly'

Nearly a thousand people meet tonight to discuss plans to bring the Occupy Wall street protest to Philadelphia. Demonstration is set for Thursday morning at 9 am at City Hall.

Organizers of what is being called Occupy Philadelphia say Thursday's demonstration is meant to be a stand against corporate greed.

 

      

 

Spokesman Steve Ross says protesters will be camping out and giving food to the homeless.

 

      

 

Dozens of police were nearby monitoring the situation Thursday morning while demonstrators waved signs and chanted peacefully.

 

      

 

Over the weekend, about 700 protesters in New York were arrested as they tried to march over the Brooklyn Bridge.

 

      

 

Philadelphia Managing Director Richard Negrin sayscity officials sat down with protest leaders Wednesday and were assured that the protests wouldn't be disruptive.
