Occupy Philly Shows National Solidarity

Protesters gather Sunday night to show support for Occupy Oakland

Demonstrators gathered in Love Park Sunday night to participate in a national solidarity event, by declaring the area a "Police Free Zone."

They were showing their support for Occupy Oakland protesters.  On Saturday, 400 people were arrested during a protest near Oakland City Hall.

The Occupy Oakland Committee had harsh criticism for police, saying most of the arrests were made illegally because police didn't give protesters an opportunity to clear out of the area.

Protesters in Philadelphia marched from Love Park to City Hall, before wrapping up before 11 p.m. Sunday night.

Occupy Philadelphia says Sunday night's gathering shows their solidarity and resistance to repression.
