President-elect Barack Obama landed in Philadelphia on Friday.
He stayed at the Sheraton hotel overnight and this morning, he's preparing to ride the “Inauguration Express.”
Obama will board a train to Washington where he will be inaugurated on Tuesday as 44th President of the United States.
Mr. Obama said the first job of his administration is to put people back to work and get the economy moving again.
Obama's 135-mile tour from Philadelphia to Washington is meant to mirror President Abraham Lincoln's 1861 journey by train for his inauguration.
The Amtrak train starts at 30th street station this morning.
It will pass through the heart of Chester, Delaware County.
The state's top elected officials will help send off President-elect Obama, but many more lesser-known Pennsylvanians will share the inaugural limelight this weekend.
Gov. Ed Rendell, U.S. Sens. Bob Casey and Arlen Specter and Mayor Michael Nutter plan to be on hand at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station as Obama begins his Whistle Stop Tour.
The train will then stop in Wilmington to pick up Vice-President elect Joe Biden and his family.
Then the train makes a stop in Baltimore before ending in Washington, D.C.
Tickets have already been given out to people who will be on the train, but the public is welcome at 2 other events.
One is at the Wilmington train station around 1:00 p.m.
Doors open at 9:30a.m.
Or trek down to Baltimore's war memorial plaza for an event around 4:15 pm.
The train will also slow to a crawl at Governor Printz Extension and Chapel Avenue in Claymont, Del., and at MARC station in Edgewood, Md., so more people can see Obama, his family, and Vice President-elect Joe Biden and his family.
Maryland officials announced Friday that all other MARC stations along the route will be closed.
Since all SEPTA Regional Rail trains pass through 30th Street Station, some delays - hopefully minor - should be anticipated throughout the entire rail system between 9 a.m. and noon, Saturday morning.
Due to restrictions within 30th Street Station, SEPTA customers are being asked to use Suburban Station Saturday morning.
The rail car President-elect Barack Obama will ride to Washington for his inauguration contains the trappings of a fine hotel or yacht, with painted walls, cherry wood, brass Pullman lamps and modern amenities for a comfortable ride.
The Georgia 300, a shiny blue car built in 1930, can hold six to eight people comfortably.
Friday in Washington, rehearsals took place for Sunday's inaugural celebration at the Lincoln Memorial.
Singer Josh Groban and other performers tested out the stage.
Sunday's "We are One" concert will feature nearly 20 different performers.
