Nuns Pray For Shore Home Tax Break

Religious retreat or vacation house?--That's the question for town leaders in Cape May Point, N.J.

The sisters of Saint Joseph own three buildings overlooking the ocean in town.

And this is no party house. The homes are used for religious retreats, the nuns said, so they want a tax break.

But the retreats sound more like vacations and the city can't afford to lose the $30,000 per year in taxes, according to city leaders.

The issue went up for consideration with the county tax board.
