Neighbors Paint Over Racist Graffiti Sprawled in Jersey Shore Town

For the third time recently, vandals spray painted racist and profane graffiti on a wall in a Jersey Shore town.

The latest incident targeted a wall in front of a home along scenic Beach Drive at Rosehill Drive on the bay side of North Cape May overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, said Lower Township Police Sgt. Donald Vanaman.

Neighbors didn’t want to wait for authorities to clean up the graffiti that included a racist slur, the F-word and male genitalia in multiple colors so they took out white spray paint of their own and painted over the hateful scribbles as a woman and child watched on the sidewalk nearby.

Police suspect a group of juveniles is responsible for the incident, something Vanaman said appeared to be a random act that didn’t target the homeowner.

This is the third such recent incident, said Vanaman. It wasn't clear if the same people are responsible for all the vandalism. [[238427591, C]]
