It’s a time-honored tradition across the Philadelphia region. But if you use a cone, chair or other object to save a parking spot in Darby Township, it could cost you a lot of money.
The Darby Township commissioners passed an ordinance Wednesday night, prohibiting the practice. If you do it and you’re caught, you’ll face a hefty fine, up to 300-dollars.
A second part of the ordinance would fine people caught shoveling snow back onto a road that’s been plowed.
While some are unfazed by the spot saving tradition, others say a snowstorm is no excuse for saving spots on crowded streets.
