No Gambling Debt in Casino Suicide

Police in eastern Pennsylvania say a man who committed suicide by driving off the top of a casino parking deck did not have significant gambling losses.

Bethlehem police say the man did not gamble at the Sands Casino Resort before plunging his car seven stories off the garage Tuesday morning.

The 21-year-old victim from Lower Macungie Township had previously patronized the Sands. But police said Wednesday that nothing in the casino's records suggests the death was linked to gambling.

The Lehigh County coroner ruled the death a suicide, though no note was found.
