A Pennsylvania woman who shot and killed her niece on her wedding day says the handgun went off during an argument outside a bar when she was trying to move it from her new husband's open glove box.
Christina George-Harvan testified Thursday in Beaver County Court that she didn't mean to pull the trigger.
KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reports that 30-year-old George-Harvan testified tearfully about how she put pressure on her niece's wound, screamed and called for help.
She's charged with homicide. Her niece, 21-year-old Katelyn Francis, died on the way to a hospital. The shooting happened April 24, 2014, during an argument between Francis and George-Harvan's husband over who would drive his truck home from a bar in New Brighton.
Witnesses have testified that Jeremy Harvan was intoxicated.
