Arsonist Strikes Again, Sends Fire Count to 23

Police to enforce curfew starting Sunday

Someone set a mobile home ablaze late Friday night on Buck Run Road in East Fallowfield Township.  Investigators said the fire -- which destroyed the residence -- was deliberately set.

They have not determined if the person or persons responsible for the Coatesville area arsons is to blame, but police are not taking any chances.  Everyone under 18 must be off the streets by 8 p.m.  Chester County police will start issuing citations Sunday.

In addition, police will ticket anyone who hasn't removed flammable objects from their porches.

The scene of the latest fire is approximately six miles south of the city of Coatesville.  The family that lived in the trailer escaped safely, and there were no reported injuries.

Since Jan. 1, 2009, there have been 18 arsons in Coatesville and 5 in neighboring communities, with over two million dollars in damages caused by the malicious fire setter or setters.

Anyone with information on the arsons is asked to call the task force tip line at (484) 356-6109.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the Coatesville arsons.
