New Wegmans in Concordville to Create 500 Jobs

Wegmans is opening up a new store and it is expected to bring an influx of jobs to suburban Philadelphia.

The supermarket chain is set to open the Concordville location, on Route 202 near U.S. 1, in November. While that's months away, they are currently trying to fill 525 positions, of which 500 will be hired locally.

"These jobs offer flexible scheduling, competitive pay and benefits, and a friendly workplace," Todd Strassner Jr., Concordville store manager and 16-year Wegmans employee, said in a release. "Soon after being hired, employees begin extensive training to learn the skills, service, and product knowledge Wegmans is known for."

There are 175 full-time jobs available, and Wegmans announced that those interested in full-time employment can apply online at www.wegmans.com or call the company at 1-877-WEGMANS (934-6267) for more information. Part-time positions will be filled later.

"Wegmans is growing, but we remain a family business at heart," Strassner added. "There are numerous opportunities in a wide range of departments, and it's a great time to build a career with us."

This will be Wegmans 17th store in Pennsylvania, and the company will have created over 8,500 jobs in the state since 1993. It has been on Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list for 18 consecutive years.
