NJ Teen Missing in Washington State

University of Washington student last seen Saturday

An Egg Harbor Township teen went missing last Saturday while in Washington state where she attended college.

University of Washington-Seattle freshman Marizela Perez, who hails from South Jersey, was last seen early Saturday afternoon in the University District section of Seattle.

Marizela had reportedly gone out with friends but never returned to her aunt's home in Seattle, where the 18-year-old had been living, cousin Joy Mendoza told the Shore News Today.

Since then, Marizela's family, who flew out to Washington, and the Seattle Police Department have been frantically searching for the college freshman but keep coming up short, says Mendoza.

There is no sign the Perez would run away, family members told King 5 News in Seattle.

Marizela, who graduated from Egg Harbor Township High School last year, is described as a 5-foot-5, 110-pound Asian female with reddish-black hair who was wearing jeans and a dark jacket when she went missing.

A Facebook group was created to try and spread the word, as well as a YouTube video with photos of Marizela and contact information.
