Window of State Police SUV Intentionally Shattered During Accident Investigation in NJ

State Police are searching for the person responsible for shattering the rear window of a trooper SUV in New Jersey Saturday morning.

The incident happened about 4:30 a.m. along Interstate 78 in Clinton Township, Hunterdon County.

According to investigators, troopers responded to a single-car crash.

While the troopers were assisting the crash victim, the rear window of the State Police SUV was struck and shattered by an unknown object.

Both directions of Interstate 78 were temporarily closed while the troopers searched for a suspect.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The driver involved in the original crash was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Both the crash and the window shattering incident remain under investigation.
