NJ Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Sgt. Keigh Buzinski will be buried Tuesday in Burlington County

A soldier who grew up in New Jersey and was killed in combat in Afghanistan will be laid to rest Tuesday.

Services for Sgt. Keith Buzinski will take place at United Presbyterian Church in Hamilton. A military burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Burlington County.

The 26-year-old had just returned to duty after a two-week leave. He died April 7 of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Logar Province.

"He wanted to have a good job and good benefits. He wanted to be something. He was a phenomenal person," his sister Laura Buzinski said, "and everyone looked up to him so much now. He really proved himself to be quite a man."

Buzinski was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, home-based at Fort Drum, N.Y.

"He came so far," Laura said. "He changed his life and he became a hero to our family.

He's survived by a wife and two children.
