New Jersey House Collapses After Massive Fire

Heavy flames engulfed a single-family home in Camden County moments before the structure came crashing down Saturday afternoon.

The blaze broke out in a 2-story home near Union Avenue and Stow Road in Pennsauken Township around 3:30 p.m., officials said.

Witnesses reported watching the upper floor of the property start to collapse around 3:45 p.m. as crews continued to work to extinguish the fire.

Windy conditions made it difficult for firefighters battling the blaze, according to Pennsauken Fire Department Chief Joseph Palumbo.

The fire began on the property's exterior and then spread through the first floor, Palumbo said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

There were no reported injuries.
