For The 15th Straight Week, Gas Prices Drop in New Jersey

Motorists continue to see lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $1.96, down 3 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.16.

This marks the 15th straight week that pump prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price on Friday was $2.29, unchanged from last week. That's also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.33.

Analysts say pump prices will likely continue to drop in New Jersey in the coming weeks, noting that crude oil prices remain low and supplies are abundant.
