Pittsburgh Man Admits Sex Assault of 11-Year-Old New Jersey Girl

Prosecutors say a Pittsburgh man accused of traveling to New Jersey to have sex at a hotel with an 11-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault.

Robert Clayton faces a 20-year prison term after entering his plea Tuesday.

Ocean County prosecutors say the girl met the 36-year-old Clayton through social media. They say he drove to New Jersey and picked her up at her home on May 1.

The girl couldn't identify the hotel. But she provided details about the suspect's appearance, his vehicle and his social media accounts. Law enforcement officials then canvassed area hotels and eventually identified the site where the assault occurred.

Clayton was captured a few days later when an off-duty police officer spotted his car at a Toms River convenience store.
