A former New Jersey Department of Children and Families employee has been indicted on charges that he used his position to coerce two mothers into having sex with him.
Forty-year-old Lamont King was indicted Dec. 2 on charges that include official misconduct, bribery, sexual assault and records tampering based on incidents that state prosecutors say occurred in late 2015 and earlier this year.
King, who has since been fired, was tasked with supervising the court-ordered visitation of children in foster care.
Attorney General Christopher Porrino said Monday that King "ruthlessly exploited" the love two mothers have for their children by forcing them to engage in sexual behavior in exchange for positive reports and unsupervised visits with them.
King's attorney says her client is the only person being exploited.
