New Grand Jury Report Potentially Damaging to Kane

A newly public grand jury report is another potentially damaging blow to Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

The report unsealed Monday reveals that the testimony of Kane's top staff aides helped special prosecutor Thomas Carluccio build his case against Kane in the disclosure of allegedly secret grand jury information.

Testimony also repeatedly reveals that Kane clashed with her aides, several of whom have left in the past year. The editorial board of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is now calling for Kane to step down.

Kane spokesman Chuck Ardo says she has a good relationship with her staff and that she regularly meets with them and seeks their advice. He says she doesn't plan to resign.

Montgomery County's district attorney is looking into the grand jury's recommendation that Kane be charged criminally.
