Teen Charged With Vandalizing Nativity Seeks ARD

Accused vandal applies for 1st-time offender program

A Pennsylvania teen charged with disfiguring a baby Jesus figure from a church Nativity display has applied to a program for first-time offenders.

The charges against 18-year-old Elizabeth Bossert would be dropped if she's admitted to and completes the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.

Bossert waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday on charges of institutional vandalism and criminal mischief.

Police say Bossert scrawled anarchy symbols, devil horns and messages on the figure at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bangor, Northampton County in early January.

Pastor Franklin Stinner says he'll be satisfied if Bossert completes the first-offender program.

Bossert didn't answer questions following the hearing.
