NYPD Officers Arrest 2 in NJ Motel Shooting: Officials

New York City police arrested two suspects Sunday in connection with a shooting outside a New Jersey motel, officials said.

Daniel Wendt, 23, was charged with attempted murder and various weapons crimes after his arrest in Brooklyn as a fugitive from justice, police said.

Also arrested was Amelia M. Valentin, 24, of Patterson, New Jersey, on charges of hindering apprehension an endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

It was unclear whether the two suspects had obtained lawyers.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was shot outside Econo Lodge Hotel at 1255 Rt. 10 East late Friday afternoon. The victim underwent surgery at a local hospital.

It's unclear whether the victim knew the two suspects.
