Assault Rifles to Be Shown, Not Sold at Gun Show

The National Rifle Association says vendors will be allowed to display assault weapons and other firearms at the outdoor show it's sponsoring next year in Harrisburg, but visitors won't be able to buy weapons.

Earlier this month, the NRA announced it had been selected to run the show after other organizers canceled a similar event when their ban on assault weapons created an uproar.

The nine-day Reed Exhibitions run Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show was scheduled to happen back in February.

The NRA says its nine-day event at the Farm Show Complex will be called the Great American Outdoor Show.

PennLive.com reports the NRA says vendors won't be allowed to sell firearms at the show. The NRA says that's consistent with the policy for vendors at its annual convention.

NRA president David Keene has said the group wants the show to be a national event.
