NJ Woman's Death Ruled a Homicide

The death of Newark woman whose body was found inside her home last week has been ruled a homicide.

Essex County prosecutors tell NJ.com that the ruling came after an autopsy was performed on 34-year-old Olga Dejesus. But they declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police officers went to Dejesus' home in the Stephen Crane Village housing project on Friday after someone asked them to check on a "sick or injured" person.

The incident marks the 73rd homicide of the year in Newark, which down slightly from the same time last year.
