NJ Transit Bus Driver Attacked in Camden

Driver sturck after he asks fighting women to leave bus, NJ Transit says

Police are looking for three females after an NJ Transit bus driver was beaten in Camden.

NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says the driver had asked the females to exit the Route 452 bus after they started fighting around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday as the bus stopped around Broadway and Kaighn Avenue in Camden.

Durso says one of the females hit the male driver above the eye as they were getting off the vehicle.

The driver was treated at Cooper Medical Center for facial cuts and released, Durso said.

“We take assaults on our drivers very seriously and rest assured the three people who did this will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Durso said. “There are signs on our buses showing penalties for assaults on drivers.”
