N.J. To Help Sandy-Impacted Rental Owners

Governor Chris Christie announced the $40M landlord Incentive program

New Jersey is offering grants to rental property owners impacted by Hurricane Sandy through a new Landlord Incentive Program.

This $40 million dollar program will provide grants to landlords who offer affordable housing for low to moderate income renters. It allows renters to pay less, while the state chips in the extra money to compensate property owners.

“We encourage rental property owners to participate in the program, which complements our other efforts to assist residents and communities in recovering from the storm,” said New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Richard Constable in a release issued this afternoon.

This program is part of the $1.8M Disaster Recovery Action plan with funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
