It was way back in June of 2011 when Leon Purvis first popped the question. The teen from Glassboro, NJ posted a YouTube video asking pop superstar Justin Bieber to go with him to his junior prom “not as a date” but “as a friend.”
The video was the beginning of a tireless campaign from the now 17-year-old, in which he created a Facebook fan page, uploaded dozens of videos, gained thousands of Twitter followers and flooded the NBC10 tipline with hundreds of emails detailing his progress.
Nearly a year and a half later, Purvis finally got a response from Bieber who met with him at his concert on Sunday and even sent him this tweet:
@leonpurvis never say never bro. good meeting u. enjoy the show
The excited teen talked about his experience in his latest video.
Purvis also sent the following email to NBC10:
I am from a small town of 10,000 people in New Jersey. I just want people to know dreams really do come true. I just lived my dream at that concert all you have to do is NEVER SAY NEVER!!!
