NJ Sexting Law Begins

Under the new law, teenagers will be provided an educational program rather than criminal punishment for a first time offense.

New Jersey’s new “sexting law” officially began on Sunday.

Sexting is a popular trend that includes sending naked or semi-nude photos from your cell phone to someone else’s. Under the new law, teenagers will be provided an educational program rather than criminal punishment for a first time offense.

On Monday, March 19, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office held a “sexting” conference in Deptford in which they gave students the chance to learn about the new law.
