The president of the Elizabeth Board of Education and two others have been arrested and charged with defrauding the district's free lunch program.
Authorities say School Board President Marie Munn and two others with connections to the district signed up their children for a free lunch program even though they didn't meet income guidelines.
The state Attorney General's Office says the theft cost the district $7,000 over five years.
Besides Munn, the husband of the district's head of custodians and the ex-wife of a school principal were arrested in their homes Monday morning.
They could face five years in prison if they're convicted.
