NJ Pizza Institution DeLorenzo's Closing

A legendary Trenton pizzeria is closing next month.

De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies, maker of thin-crusted pizza with plump tomatoes, has been an institution in the city's Chambersburg neighborhood for nearly 65 years.

There's no delivery, no credit cards, no bathroom and no printed menus. The cash register is more than 50 years old.

Sixty-eight-year-old owner Gary Amico tells The Times of Trenton (http://bit.ly/tD0Crx ) his family did not want to abandon Trenton and business is still thriving. Amico says it's just time to take a breather.

But they won't call it retirement.

The family says they may open a new location in Pennsylvania in a few years.
