NJ Police Officer Accused of Child Sex Abuse

Patrolman suspended without pay pending investigation

A Burlington County patrolman was suspended without pay after being accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile.

Patrolman Jason Kreig, a seven-year veteran of the Pemberton Township Police Department, was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to prosecutors.

The 31-year-old is accused of assaults in late 2007 or early 2008 and last year, the Burlington County Times reported.

The age or gender of the victim wasn't released.

None of the alleged incidents happened while Kreig was on duty, according to authorities.

Kreig’s bail was reduced to $300,000 Monday but he remained in jail unable to post the amount, according to the Times.
