A New Jersey mother accused of leaving her 6-month-old twins in a minivan that rolled into traffic plans to plead not guilty to endangerment charges Wednesday, according to her lawyer.
Fair Lawn police say the vehicle was in neutral with no keys inside when it rolled from a parking space outside a pharmacy Monday.
Natalie Akselrod's lawyer says his client was in a rush to get medicine for one of the boys. Stephen Schwartz says his client has suffered enough after she was handcuffed for five hours and spent about eight hours in custody.
The Record newspaper reports Akselrod held a news conference on Tuesday in which she said she should not have left the babies for a second. The mother of five said she was ``thankful'' her babies weren't hurt.
