NJ Man Saves Daughter, Search Suspended for Dad

A man on a WaveRunner pulled a little girl from the ocean in North Wildwood, but the search for her father was called off on Saturday

The Coast Guard suspends its search for a man who vanished off the coast of North Wildwood.

Brad Smith, from Horsham, and another man were walking with their daughters in knee-deep water in the Hereford Inlet late Friday afternoon when they apparently fell into a drop in the sand.

They were all pulled out by the undertow, though the other man and his daughter were able to get back to shore.

A Marlton, N.J. man on a WaveRunner saved Smith's seven-year-old daughter, but Smith, 52, never resurfaced.

Coast Guard crews searched by helicopter and boat late Friday and again on Saturday, then suspended their search around 3 p.m.
