NJ Man Gets 30 Years for Killing Girlfriend

Noel Irizarry must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole

The central New Jersey man who admitted to strangling his girlfriend during an argument in her Bordentown Township apartment apartment last year last year must serve at least 25 years and six months behind bars.

Noel Irizarry, 41, of Hamilton Township pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to aggravated manslaughter in the Nov. 7 death of 31-year-old Misty Ramos inside her Bradford Court apartment.

He was sentenced Friday to a 30-year state prison term. After serving 85 percent of the sentence 25 and half years -- he will be eligible for parole under the No Early Release Act, according to a release from the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi says Ramos was found when police went to her Bordentown Township apartment after relatives became concerned when she didn't pick up her son as planned.
