NJ DOT Technician Jailed for Bogus Overtime Hours

A former technician for New Jersey's Department of Transportation has been sentenced to jail for putting bogus overtime hours on his time sheets.
 
A judge in Morris County sentenced Kyle Rounsaville to three years' probation Friday, contingent on his serving six months in county jail.
 
The 51-year-old Rounsaville, of Easton, Pennsylvania, also will have to pay nearly $15,000 in restitution. He pleaded guilty in May to theft by unlawful taking.
 
According to Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman, Rounsaville worked inspecting DOT job sites for safety violations. During the first six months of last year, he put in for approximately 300 hours in overtime that he didn't work.
 
Rounsaville allegedly used a GPS jammer to circumvent the GPS tracker on his state vehicle and conceal where he actually was.
