A New Jersey police officer was struck by a car on his way to the funeral services of a fallen Philadelphia Police officer.
Authorities say the Margate officer was hit in the parking lot of the Millville Wawa on Route 49 Friday morning while he was on his way to the funeral of Officer Brian Lorenzo in Philadelphia.
The Margate officer suffered injuries to his left leg and was taken to South Jersey Regional Medical Center.
The injured officer was on foot at the time of the accident.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
