NJ Attorney General Nominated for Judgeship

Christie nominates Attorney General Paula Dow to superior court judgeship

Gov. Chris Christie on Monday announced he has nominated New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow to become a Superior Court judge in Essex County.

Dow would be replaced by Christie's chief counsel Jeff Chiesa.

Christie says there can't be any dispute over Dow's nomination because she has been twice confirmed by the Senate.

Chiesa served as executive director of Christie's transition team.  He previously was a partner at the law firm of Wolff & Samson in their litigation group.

Before that, he worked in the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Christie says he hopes to have him in place by Jan. 1.
