NJ Airports Receive $3.6M in Grants

Three New Jersey airports will get more than $3 million in federal grants for various improvements.
 
Sens. Robert Menendez and Cory Booker announced the Transportation Department grants on Friday.

Atlantic City International Airport will get $39,000 to update its master plan to identify future needs.
 
Newark Liberty International Airport will get the largest grant, receiving $3.4 million for the building of a new apron that will provide additional parking for aircraft.
 
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport, says the grant will be used to demolish three buildings and for paving for aircraft and vehicular parking.
 
Essex County Airport in Fairfield will get $200,000 to go toward removing obstructions on two runways.
