New Castle County police charged a man Sunday with the stabbing death of his roommate during a fight outside their apartment.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jorge Ramirez-Arce got involved into a physical altercation with his roommate 32-year-old Alejandro Aravjo-Franco at the Abbey Walk Apartment complex at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, according to police. Arce allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times about the torso area.

Investigators said Aravjo-Franco was found unconscious in the hallway of the apartment building. He was pronounced dead at Christiana Hospital.

Police released Aravjo-Franco's name Tuesday after notifying the victim's family.

Ramirez-Arce was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon. He was being held without bail.
