Montco Arsonist Still on the Loose After Burning Cars

Police on Sunday continued to search for an arsonist who they say set four fires in a small Montgomery County community on fire late last week.

According to a post on the Upper Perkiomen Police Department’s Facebook page, the first car was set on fire in the early morning hours Thursday.

Investigators say a car parked in the 300 block of Cherry Street in Pennsburg Borough was set on fire. Around the same time, police believe the same individual lit a garage on fire located in the 400 block of West Side Alley, also in Pennsburg Borough.

The next day, police believe the same person lit a car on fire that was parked in the 400 block of Railroad Street. About the same time, a car parked in the 200 block of Cherry Street was set on fire.

Neighbors in the quiet community told NBC10 they're joining forces to keep an eye out, but fear the arsonist will strike again.

"I think you have to really always keep an eye out, no matter where you are, nowadays, and if you see something, say something," one resident said.

Police in the area said solving the arsons is their top priority.
