Mom of Kids Found Covered in Feces Appears in Court

A Bucks county mother of three, who police say was responsible for one of the worst cases of child neglect they had ever seen, appeared in court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

Back in February, police arrived at the home of 21-year-old Chelsea Champey in Bristol, Pa. While Chelsea was not at the house, her three young children were there unattended.

Police say that the kids were living in a disgusting house of horrors filled with human waste. Champey’s 2-year-old daughter was allegedly found naked and covered with feces behind a bolted door while her 1-year-old daughter was found inside a feces-smeared crib. Champey’s 4-year-old son was also inside the home.

Police also say that they found rotting food, an open liquor bottle, part of a marijuana cigarette and open razor blades.

The three children were sent to two different foster homes in the Bucks County Children and Youth system.

Champey wasn’t arrested until April. She is charged with felony child endangerment.

Her preliminary hearing began Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.
