Mom and Baby in Car That Collides With Police Van

Two officers were riding in the van that flipped over during a Tuesday morning accident

A police van was responding to a call with its lights and sirens on, when authorities say it was hit by a car.

The accident happened just before 9 a.m on Tuesday, at the corner of Harbison and Cheltenham Avenues in the Wissinoming section of the city, police said.

Two male police officers were inside the van when it was hit and flipped over. They were taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.

The 26-year old mother and her 14-month old son, who were inside the car, were taken to Einstein Hospital. Police say the woman has a sore neck and back, and the baby is okay because he was strapped into his car seat.

No word on any charges.
