A family is recovering after a mother went into labor on the Pa. Turnpike and the baby's father helped his wife deliver.
Morning rush hour turned into a real rush Thursday morning for an expectant couple trying to make it to the hospital to deliver their baby.
State police say the mother ended up giving birth to a baby boy around 7:30 a.m. while stuck on the turnpike near mile marker 336.7 in Whitemarsh.
Her husband delivered their son in the front seat of the car while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
Once EMS workers arrived on scene, they took the mother and baby to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton.
